A little bit of Steam (Train)

When asked recently to create a card with a steam train on it was back to the drawing board as I didn't have any decoupage sheets left. A quick browse online also drew a blank as the only one I could find would have cost over £5.00 including P&P - so really not worth it!
Then I found this stamp set by Sheena Douglass............perfect for the job!

I used an 8x8" card with papers I recently got from Sugar & Spice mounted onto black bazzil.

The image was stamped onto watercolour card and painted with Distress Markers/inks.

The Happy Birthday sign and clock are also in the set.

I added a "70" die cut and some pearls created with the Tonic Nuvo liquids.

Whilst talking to the lady who had requested this, another colleague expressed an interest for Fathers Day - hence the following - which I completed in a different colourway.

The greeting is from Lilli of the Valley.

Thanks for taking a look

For my Dad

This is the card I made for my Dad this year.

It's a 6x6" card on which I have added a stamped background from Tim Holtz, from the Butterfly set, mounted onto black bazzill.

I used one of the birds from the Tim Holtz set, stamped onto watercolour card and painted with Distress Markers/inks. Glossy Accents were added to his eyes and beak.
He was stamped onto the card directly to get the legs but cut out and mounted on 3d foam to give dimension,

I think the JOFY stamps work so well with those of Tim Holtz so I created a banner using the Alphabet set and strung it along the top with twine and raised with 3d glue gel.
The letters were coloured with Distress Markers and coated in Glossy Accents too.

Loving these stamps :)

Fathers Day 2015

I only made a few this year, here are two of them.

A recently purchased Tim Holtz stamp set was used, the numbers onto some patterned paper from my collection and matted onto black bazzil then onto a 6x6" hammered card.

The butterflies were stamped onto watercolour card and coloured with Tim Holtz Distress pens - I'm really loving these at the moment!

The bodies are coated with Crystal Lacquer and the wings held up with 3d glue gel.
The greeting is a Lili of the Valley stamp.

More to follow.

I made the following using the fabulous Back to Basics collection from Merly Impressions.

Wedding Card 2

The second card for my sister was this one.
Their wedding invitation had a rustic quality incorporating birds, birdcages and bunting so I coordinated the card to match.

It's an 8x8" card again with papers from Kay & co.
The birds are a Stampin' Up punch (one reversed) and the cage is Tim Holtz.

Their names were cut with a QK alphabet and the date on the bunting which is from the Kaisercraft POP collection.

Swirls and flowers were punched and die-cut and lots of gems added.

Wishing Kayleigh and Richard every happiness together.

Merly crop

Merly Impressions held a 10 hour crop last Saturday and I was lucky to be able to go along.
The kit was made using the beautiful Secret Garden Kaisercraft collection and this is my version of the first page.

Chrissy's original has lots of fussy cutting which is absolutely stunning but I am really not patient enough to do this so, as always, I flew solo and created these flowers instead,

I used the Sheena Douglass Rose stamp set, watercolour card and Tim Holtz Distress pens.
I also added a sheet of seafoam Kaisercard and die cut the stems behind and dotted them with a white gel pen. The flowers have stickles and Kaisercraft gems in too,

The leaves are also from the stamp set.

My sentiment was from one of the cut off strips and fit my photo perfectly.
We were having a chocoholic afternoon tea at the Hilton Park Lane courtesy of my daughter who bought it for me as a birthday present last November.
It was on Valentine's day this year.

Chrissy's kit makes 3 layouts all of which are stunning - check them out here where you can also purchase the very generous kit!

Thanks Chrissy, Paul and Merley for a wonderful day.

Baby Martha

This is my latest card made for my sisters work colleague.
It's an 8x8" base card with beautiful Kaisercraft papers from the Pitter Patter collection available at Merly Impressions.

I used an alphabet sheet as a base then cut lots of the hexagons from another sheet.
These were inked and added onto the base leaving a little gap, some raised on 3d foam pads.

The photo was trimmed and mounted onto another sheet from the collection then a ribbon and lace border added with a little knot.
The bunting is created using the Stampin' up bunting punch, I used my cropodile to punch holes in the top corners and threaded them onto ribbon. Letters are Making Memories rub-ons.

The bunting was added with more 3d foam, you can see the dimension above.
Then gems were added for a little sparkle.

Welcome to the world Martha.
